New Year, New Adventures

Ever wondered how to make the most of your holiday time?

Where Will Your 2026 UK Adventure Take You?

Yorkshire offers stunning landscapes and warm hospitality. Its combination of rolling dales, historic cities, and charming villages makes it perfect for families seeking both relaxation and adventure.

According to recent tourism data Yorkshire has seen a 15% increase in domestic tourism over the past year; with visitors particularly drawn to its mix of outdoor activities and cultural attractions.

The historic city of York sits just 8 miles from Red House Estate offering the perfect balance between city exploration and rural retreat.

Why Holiday Lets Beat Hotels for Family Getaways

Hotels work for some trips...

But for real family holidays nothing beats a holiday let.

You get space to spread out, privacy when you need it, freedom to come and go as you please and the ability to truly live like a local.

Holiday lets with private gardens are especially valuable for families with children or pets. They provide secure spaces where little ones can play freely while adults relax.

The best holiday cottages combine character with comfort. Historic buildings with modern amenities. Privacy with accessibility.

Red House Estate can offer you all these.

Creating Memories That Last

The real joy of holidays isn't just the destination.

Those moments when three generations gather around a dining table for a meal that stretches into hours of stories and laughter.

Morning walks along a riverbank where children spot wildlife for the first time.

Evening games on a private lawn as the sun sets.

These are the memories that stay with you long after you return home.

Planning Your Perfect 2026 UK Holiday

Ready to make 2026 your year of unforgettable UK adventures?

Start by considering:

What matters most to your family? Space? Activities? History? Nature?

When can everyone get away?

How far do you want to travel? Sometimes the best escapes are closer than you think.

Look for places that offer something for everyone in your group. Multi-generational holidays work best when there's a mix of activities and relaxation options.

And remember, the very best UK holiday spots are often those just off the beaten track. Places with character, history and natural beauty, yet still within easy reach of attractions.

Places where you can wake up to birdsong, spend your days exploring, then return to comfortable, spacious accommodation where everyone can unwind in their own way.

The perfect holiday isn't about ticking boxes on a tourist checklist.

It's about finding somewhere that feels like a home away from home.

Somewhere special and somewhere you'll want to return to year after year.

Your 2026 memories are waiting to be made.

Red House Estate

We have four cottages with varying accommodation to suit groups from 4 to 12.

  • The gardens are all fenced for both children and our four legged members of the family.
  • The swimming pool is open from the end of May until as far into September as the weather allows.
  • The grass tennis court and croquet lawn are open for the summer too for the more competitive amongst our guests.

If you're thinking of a spring or autumn break then the flora and fauna are beautiful with walks along the river bank or in the woods.  Christmas and the New Year with the cottages decorated and the log fires burning are very special.  Come and see what we have to offer.
